A log that gets a grade of "B" -- thereby creating the word "BLOG" -- describing my quest to win one of the Massachusetts State lottery games.

amber squirrel
I put this lovely amber squirrel in my front window for Halloween. Eerily, it lit up and let off a ghostly, orange glow -- and there wasn't even a light bulb in it! I told the children who came for candy that the squirrel was HAUNTED.
With great foreboding, I nervously took this video of what I thought was a giant tsunami hundreds of miles high about to crash down on the Eastern seaboard. As I waited trembling in my running shoes, I noticed that the crest of it simply was not moving. With some careful, analytical thought I deduced that it was a giant storm front on its way westward, coming off the Atlantic Ocean. I breathed a great sigh of relief and resumed jogging.
The numbers I played for Megabucks were:
2-13-25-30-31-41
The winning numbers were:
3-9-32-38-39-41
I got one number right, and two others were only off by one.
This street rat let me film him for a bit, and then he ran away. I wanted to welcome him to our neighborhood, but my neighbors would have nothing of it.
The numbers I played for Megabucks were:
5-6-14-22-36-41
The winning numbers were:
4-9-11-20-32-36
I got one number right, and another was only off by one.
The real estate agent proudly presented his highest priced property to me, the other day when I was looking for a barn to buy. I looked at it quizzically. THIS was worth $799,000?
a high resolution picture of the moon taken by the Hubble Telescope
A stranger sold me this picture of the moon that he said was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Now that I reflect back on the purchase, I do believe that I was ripped off.
The night was as black as pitch and just as silent. Suddenly, these words loomed up at me out of the darkness. I was already not saying a word; how could I be anymore quiet? It felt like Halloween had arrived early. Instead of being scared, I took a picture of the ghostly letter-apparitions.
The numbers I played for Megabucks were:
11-25-28-31-39-40
The winning numbers were:
3-15-25-29-30-40
I got two numbers right and three other numbers were only off by one.
I discovered that someone had drastically altered my back yard
I went out my back door and I discovered that someone had drastically altered my back yard. A beautiful, wrought iron bench sat where there had been nothing before; and the towering blue spruce had been magically transformed into a gnarly old oak tree. Additionally, someone felt presumptuous enough to encourage people to walk into my house by planting a welcome/come-on-in kind of sign right by my back door.
The numbers I played for Megabucks were:
5-20-21-27-29-41
The winning numbers have not been drawn yet. I will notify you of my winnings as soon as they are announced. ---------- OK, here they are:
Wednesday 10/10/07 2-16-29-30-36-42
Well, two numbers being only one off by one and a third being exactly right is not half-bad.
I was shocked today to receive a visit a from the REAL Winnie-the-Pooh. I tried to take a few quick pictures of him, but he grabbed my camera and destroyed it with the brute force of his bear paws. Aha ha, I fooled him! I had already transmitted the first picture I took of him up to the web, and the transmission completed before the camera was crushed. Alas, the clearer pictures that I took right after this one did not make it. Maybe the next time he comes and visits me?
the Tin Man fell out of the sky and landed sitting up on a roof gutter
The Tin Man fell out of the sky and landed sitting up on a roof gutter near to where I strolled along today. He yelled over to me that the Wizard had found a way for him to visit Dorothy. "You're a little late," I shouted back at him. "Judy Garland died years ago--" But my words were cut off as a green faced woman appeared on a ratty broom and dragged him back up into the sky. I assume it was the Wicked Witch of the West taking him back to Oz.
