one hundred chirping sparrows

As I walked through town on my way to buy a Megabucks ticket, I came upon a neatly trimmed hedge that was full of sparrows singing their hearts out. I thought, I should be so happy.

The numbers I played were:

01-24-28-33-36-39

The winning numbers were:

3-17-28-32-34-35

I did not win. However, I did get one number right (28) and picked a couple of other numbers that were only off by one.

a million sparkles of sunlight

On my way to buy a Megabucks ticket today, I noticed that banks of snow still remained from the last big storm that we had ... even though they shrank as the day grew warmer. However, there was so much black grime deposited on them that an odd contrast was created between the specks of dirt and the many ice crystals oriented just right to reflect the sun right at me.

The numbers I played for Megabucks were:

15-20-25-30-34-40

And the winning numbers were:

2-6-11-23-26-39

Sadly, I did not win.
