clouds with silver linings

As I walked to the liquor store today to buy my lottery ticket, I noticed that the puffy clouds covering the sun were dark in the middle and brilliantly bright on the edges.

The numbers I played for Megabucks were:
04-09-16-21-28-38

The winning numbers were:
02/23/05 Wednesday 17-19-26-32-33-40

Unfortunately, I did not get any of the numbers right.

2/9

I picked my Megabucks numbers today from looking at things in the grocery aisle. For example, I picked 02 because I saw a sign that said, "2/$1.00." But by the time I got up to 17, I got tired of doing it this way, and picked the rest of the numbers by just selecting them at random. So I ended up playing --
02-12-17-27-32-41
-- and the winning numbers were:
5-10-12-13-38-41

Hey! I got two right again. Still, that means that I did not win any kind of prize.

stained glass window

When I walked into the grocery store the day I bought this ticket, the sunlight was filtering in through the tall windows in the front of the building. A parallelogram of sunlight illuminated the glass door directly in front of me, but there was a lot of dirt on it. Hmm, I thought, it almost could be a stained glass window in a church if it wasn't dirt being illuminated.

I played:
07-10-17-25-33
in Mass Cash. The winning numbers were:
7-22-23-25-28

Oh my god! I got two of them right.
